This government-backed urban regeneration initiative introduces a large-scale cultural venue in Dongjak-gu, addressing a significant shortage of performance and community space in the region. With a total floor area of approximately 18,000 m² and 1,230 seats, the development aims to enrich local life, support the arts, and position Noryangjin as a vibrant cultural and tourism destination in line with Seoul’s broader civic development strategy.

The design prioritises openness, accessibility and operational clarity. A glazed façade creates visual continuity between the public plaza and internal lobby, reinforcing transparency and inclusion. Circulation routes for audiences, performers, and logistics are strategically separated to enhance efficiency and ease of use. Elevation changes across the site are utilised to integrate access points, parking, and service areas - creating a spatial strategy that is both seamless and user-focused.

A blend of terracotta, aluminium and warm timber louvres gives the façade depth and resonance, while guiding visitors into the venue through a natural architectural flow. The public plaza doubles as a communal gathering space, embedding the building within everyday civic life and encouraging ongoing cultural engagement.
