Golden Beach Marina is envisioned as a contemporary marina destination that transforms a functional harbor into a vibrant waterfront experience on the coastline. Conceived as part of a larger island resort development, the project integrates marina infrastructure with leisure, retail, dining, and cultural programs, creating a new interface between land, sea, and public life. Responding to deep water conditions, significant tidal variation, and the site’s maritime heritage, the design establishes a strong yet understated architectural identity rooted in its coastal context.

Inspired by the fluid movement of the sea and the sculptural language of yachts, the architecture balances robustness and elegance through bold, monolithic forms and refined materiality. Public and private realms are carefully layered, allowing the marina to function both as an operational harbor and a social destination. Through this approach, Nantun Wharf repositions the marina as an active civic and leisure landscape one that celebrates movement, water, and the enduring relationship between architecture and the maritime environment.

Design Approach

The design approach integrates marina infrastructure and architecture into a cohesive waterfront system, balancing operational performance with public experience. Robust forms and materials respond to marine conditions, while clear circulation and layered programs transform the marina into an active and refined coastal destination.

Lagoon as Leisure Landscape

The protected marina lagoon is reimagined as a calm, multifunctional water body that supports both leisure and marine activity. Clear waters, gentle edges, and uninterrupted horizons create a setting where recreation, movement, and landscape coexist within a controlled maritime environment.

Public Waterfront Promenade

A generous waterfront promenade forms the social spine of the marina, connecting beach, lagoon, and harbor. Lined with palm trees and shaded seating, the boardwalk accommodates walking, cycling, and informal gathering, transforming the marina edge into an active public realm.

Monolithic Pier Architecture

Bold, monolithic structures extend over the water, expressing clarity, solidity, and balance. Minimal forms, refined proportions, and durable materials create a strong architectural presence while framing views and reinforcing the relationship between structure, sea, and sky.
