Revitalizing the Inui Building: A Facade Transformation for Enhanced User Experience
This project outlines a comprehensive façade renovation of an existing commercial tower, focused on improving its competitiveness in Seoul’s evolving office market. Beyond visual upgrade, the design aims to elevate the building’s identity and tenant experience through a redefined arrival sequence and more intuitive internal circulation. These improvements are intended to increase long-term value, improve day-to-day usability, and position the building more strongly within its urban context.
The design explores three distinct façade strategies - Matrix, Flow, and Branch - each rooted in contextual cues from the site’s orientation, surrounding views and natural movement patterns. These concepts propose different ways to balance solar performance, transparency and rhythm while offering visual clarity and brand distinction. A reconfigured entry sequence further enhances the user journey, with improved ground-level visibility and stronger architectural coherence across the base and tower elements.
